The Concordia Sports Hall of Fame celebrates the achievements of outstanding contributors to athletics at Concordia University and its two founding institutions, Loyola College and Sir George Williams University.

The Sports Hall of Fame includes two categories of members:
  • ATHLETES or TEAMS who have represented Concordia University, Loyola College and/or Sir George Williams University and competed with distinction at the highest level of intercollegiate competition available at the time.

  • BUILDERS who have made significant contributions to the athletics programs of Concordia, Loyola, or Sir George Williams in a role other than that of student athlete.

Nominations can be submitted by anyone with an interest in athletics at Concordia or its two founding institutions. Inductees are named by the Hall of Fame Committee which is composed of an ex officio secretary named by the Concordia University Director of the Department of Recreation and Athletics and six voting members as follows:

  • a member of the Loyola Hall of Fame
  • a representative of the Sir George Williams Alumni
  • a representative of the Concordia University Alumni Association
  • a female staff member of the Department of Athletics
  • a male staff member of the Department of Athletics
  • the Director of the Department of Recreation and Athletics

The Concordia University Sports Hall of Fame has its beginnings in the spring of 1967 when the Loyola College Sports Hall of Fame came into being to honour student athletes and builders of Loyola College. There were ten inductees in the first ceremony which took place on October 21, 1967. Other inductions took place in 1968, 1969, 1970, 1972, 1973 and 1983.

In 1995 the Hall of Fame was renamed the Concordia Sports Hall of Fame and the mandate was expanded to include those individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions to sports at Concordia University and Sir George Williams University, as well as Loyola College. Further inductions have taken place in 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000.
